The Om Raut directorial which entered the Rs 100 crore club on Wednesday after raking in another Rs.16.25 crore seems to have a grip at the ticket counters. According to the latest report on Box Office India, the period drama is expected to have earned Rs 11-12 crore which has only helped it grow in the domestic circuit. The report further suggested that ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ has had a drop of nearly 20% in its collection which is very good as it is Thursday and has passed with flying colours. The first week numbers of the film are Rs 116 crore and it will be the second Friday which will tell where the film will go.
On the other hand, Meghna Gulzar‘s ‘Chhapaak’ managed to mint another Rs 1.25 – 1.50 crore as a result of nearly 40% drop in its collections. Despite Deepika’s stellar performance, the film is expected to earn around Rs 26 crore and the Rs 35 crore lifetime figure is looking tough the reach. Meanwhile, Ajay’s ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ had covered had reached this figure in nearly just two days.
Both the films are of different genres as one is based on the real-life events of Laxmi Agarwal who is an acid survivor. While Ajay’s film is a historical drama that depicts the life and times of the unsung warrior, whose valour still makes the Nation proud.
