ISL: FC Goa sacks Sergio Lobera, Derrick Pereira to take over

Indian Super League club FC Goa has sacked its Spanish manager Sergio Lobera and named Derrick Pereira, the coach of the club’s reserve side, as the interim coach until the end of the season.

Lobera took over as FC Goa manager in 2017, leading the club to the playoffs, while last season, Goa reached the ISL final, which is lost narrowly to Bengaluru FC. After that, it won the Super Cup, beating the two-time ISL champion Chennaiyin FC in the final.

In the current season, it sits at the summit of the ISL table after 15 matches, with Lobera overseeing wins over Kerala Blasters and Odisha FC before his tenure came to an end.
