Varun Dhawan collaborated with ace filmmaker Rohit Shetty for ‘Dilwale’ in 2015 and shared the screen space with the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Kriti Sanon. While SRK-Kajol’s impeccable chemistry won over the audience, Varun managed to leave a lasting impression as he essayed the role of SRK’s younger brother with brilliance. The film turned out to be a game-changer for Varun as it went on to earn a stupendous total of Rs 139.97 crore in the domestic circuit.

Varun stepped into the shoes of Salman Khan as he agreed to play the lead role in ‘Judwaa 2’ which was a reboot of Bhaijaan’s hit 1997 film ‘Judwaa’. The film which was helmed by his father David Dhawan, Varun managed to bring his A-game on the silver screen and won over the audience with his stellar double role performance. ‘Judwaa 2’ also starred Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles and the film managed to earn Rs 132.39 crore at the box office becoming Varun’s second-biggest film.

Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, who started their acting careers with ‘Student of the Year’ have featured in several films together but it was their last collaboration ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ which managed to allure the audience to the theatres. With a total of Rs 114.11 crore in the domestic circuit, ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ has managed to become Varun’s third-highest box office film.

Varun Dhawan joined hands with choreographer turned director Remo D’Souza for dance flick ‘ABCD 2’ in 2015 and showcased her scintillating dance moves. The film did a good business at the box office and raked in a total of Rs 103.58 crore and became Varun’s fourth film to surpass the 100 crore mark. Not only did Varun flaunt his dancing skills but at the same time raised his level by delivering a stunning performance. The character was so loved by the audience that now the popular actor-director duo are coming back together with another dance film titled ‘Street Dancer 3D’.

Varun’s last release ‘Kalank’ turned out to be one of the most disappointing films of 2019 as it failed to impress the audience. The film which had an ensemble star cast comprising of Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kunal Kemmu was Karan Johar’s most ambitious project. Despite its failure, the film went on to earn Rs 80.03 crore in the domestic circuit.
