Ayushmann’s ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ Vs Vicky’s ‘Bhoot: The Haunted Ship’: Which movie scored better at the box office on opening day? – Times of India

Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ and Vicky Kaushal‘s ‘Bhoot: Part One – The Haunted Ship’ clashed at the box office on Friday.

While Ayushmann’s film deals with the subject of same-sex marriage, Vicky’s flick is a horror drama. The trailers of the films featuring the National Award-winning actors received a lot of love and appreciation from the masses. Fans of both the actors have been waiting for the release of their respective films eagerly!

Now, according to a report on BoxOfficeIndia, the early estimates of collections states that Ayushmann’s film has earned good numbers. The film opened to Rs 9.25 – 9.50 crore nett. His highest opener was his last film ‘Dream Girl’ which scored Rs 9.43 crore nett at the box office.

The report further states that the real collection may be less as it was a holiday! Reportedly, the film has done best in Delhi NCR with collections looking to be around Rs 2.50 crore nett followed by East Punjab which is around Rs 1 crore nett.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, Vicky’s movie gained around Rs 5-5.25 crore nett. The film has fared better in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Odisha due to the horror factor!

‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ is helmed by Hitesh Kewalaya and also stars Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and more. ‘Bhoot: The Haunted Ship’ is directed by Bhanu Pratap Singh and features Bhumi Pednekar, Ashutosh Rana, Siddhanth Kapoor and Meher Vij.
