65th Amazon Filmfare Awards 2020: Elated wife Deepika Padukone calls Ranveer Singh and Zoya Akhtar’s win ‘HISTORIC’ – Times of India

Zoya Akhtar directorial ‘Gully Boy‘ rocked the 65th Amazon Filmfare Awards last night with the maximum number of trophies. While Ranveer Singh won Best Actor, Alia Bhatt took home the prestigious Black Lady for her performance in ‘Gully Boy’. Also, it was honoured with Best Film and Best Screenplay awards.

Ranveer who couldn’t keep calm after winning the award gave a video call to the director Zoya Akhtar to share his excitement. He also took to Instagram to share a screenshot of their happy faces. “Look at that face !!! 😆❤️

No sooner than the star shared the snap, his wife Deepika Padukone who is proud of her hubby’s achievement took to the post to drop in an inspiring comment which read, “HISTORIC…Love you both”.

Meanwhile, the star-studded event was hosted by Karan Johar, Vicky Kaushal and Varun Dhawan. Ranveer Singh rocked the stage with his rap while Akshay Kumar, Ayushmann Khurrana and Kartik Aaryan also entertained the audience with some truly power-packed performances.
